This past week while in Chicago we got the chance to visit the classic modern residential masterpiece by Mies van der Rohe.  It is located in Plano, IL.   Dr. Farnsworth was a physician who did a lot of research wanted a cabin about an hour away from the hospital where she worked in Chicago.   She met Mies at a dinner party and hired him to design the home for her.   The glass house is raised to avoid the floods of the river as well as give the best views of the river from everywhere in the home.
